In recent years, the welding rod industry has been seeking ways to reduce production costs by using less or no titanium dioxide or reducing rutile equivalent high raw materials. Non-metallic ore aluminosilicates such as sepiolite, white mud, and woven stone are used in welding rods, and have achieved certain results, but they do not have good slippage and plasticity. The comprehensive energy of mica is much better, which helps improve the quality of the welding rod.

Product application features:

1. Sericite is a sheet-shaped aluminum potassium silicate suitable for the production and application of welding rods.

2. Application functions and features of mica: The K2O content in mica is high (leptile, 7.41%; mica, 7.5-11%; white mud, sepiolite does not contain K2O), so it has a low ionization potential. During the arc combustion process, it is conducive to providing conductive ions and stabilizing arc combustion.

3. The low content of mica S and P is in S (S content 0.015-0.018%), which is conducive to reducing S and P in the deposited metal, reducing their tendency to crack, and improving crack resistance.

4. The water absorption and expansion rate is low (瓣用特, 70.5%; sepiolite, 5.2%; titanium dioxide, 32.6%; mica, 4.3%), which is beneficial for reducing welding rod skin cracks.

5. Low adsorption water content (after baking at 110℃×2h, the moisture content is: 花博, 1.8%; white mud, 5.2%; sepiolite, 5.8%; titanium dioxide, 2.4%; mica, 2.5%), which can improve its moisture resistance, reduce the diffused hydrogen content in the deposited metal, reduce pore sensitivity, and increase the level of X-ray abrasion film.

6. Because it is small scale-shaped and has a certain elasticity and plasticity, it can increase the slipperiness of welding rod coating and the flowability in the powder cylinder, improving its pressure coating performance.

7. The mica particle size is uniformly distributed and does not contain large particles of foreign impurities. It does not explode during arc combustion, thus reducing splashes and reducing the sound of combustion.

Conclusion: Sericite is a new type of welding rod material. It contains 9%~11%K2O, which can improve arc stability, reduce splashing, and improve the process performance of welding rods. It solves the problem of welding rod skin cracking that often occurs in the production process of welding rods. When used in acid welding rods, it is recommended to have a ratio of 3%~5%, which can improve slippage and viscosity, replace titanium dioxide, and reduce the cost of welding rods.
